NISM IACE-1 exam was launched in May 2013 and was made mandatory by SEBI in June 2013.
This exam is mandatory for those who want to register as Investment Advisers and for employees who work for investment advisers.
NISM-Series-X-A: Investment Adviser (Level 1) Certification Examination is the level 1 examination and NISM would also be launching the level 2 of the Investment Adviser Certification Examination.
A person shall be required to pass both the levels (i.e. NISM IACE (Level 1) & IACE (Level 2)) to become a Registered Investment Adviser.
This exam will have questions from Stock Market, Debt Market, Derivatives Market, Mutual funds, Insurance, Taxation, Retirement, Estate and Financial Planning.
To pass this exam, the candidate should be having knowledge in the entire financial market.
So, our suggestion is that one should take up the other certifications in NISM like Currency, Equity Derivatives, Mutual Funds etc before taking the IACE exam.
The examination consists of 100 questions of 1 mark each and should be completed in 2 hours. The passing score for the examination is 60%. There shall be negative marking of 25% of the marks assigned to a question for each wrong answer.

PAN card is required for all NISM exams to receive the certificate.
Certificate will not be sent as hard copy to the candidate. Only soft copies of the certificates will be provided by NISM. We have to download it and take a print out.
